How does Escrow work on Solvo?

Escrow is how Solvo holds your money in a third-party account (Midtrans) until the work is done. The handyman only gets paid after you confirm the job was completed properly.

How does it work?

  1. You create an order. Solvo collects price quotes from handymen who bid.
  2. You pick a handyman and pay. Your money is held by Midtrans — not transferred to the handyman yet.
  3. The handyman arrives and works. While they're in transit and working, your money stays safe in Midtrans.
  4. You confirm the job is done. Once you tap "Complete" in the app, the money is released to the handyman (90% to them, 10% Solvo commission).
  5. Not satisfied? Open a dispute — Solvo's team will decide within 24 hours whether to refund you or pay the handyman.

Why this is good for you (client)

  • No need to pay cash on-site — no risk of the handyman running off with cash.
  • If the work isn't right — you can claim a refund without the handyman holding your money hostage.
  • Handymen have no access to your bank or card details.

Why this is good for handymen

  • The handyman knows the money is already there — no risk of clients running off without paying.
  • Payment is auto-disbursed within 1-2 business days after the order completes.
  • If there's a dispute — Solvo decides, not the client. The handyman has evidence (before/after photos, chat, GPS log).

Common questions

How long is the money held? Maximum 7 days from when the handyman marks the job done. If you don't confirm or open a dispute within 7 days, the money auto-releases to the handyman.

How do refunds work? Open the order → "Open Dispute" → upload photos/videos of the problem. Solvo's team reviews within 24 hours.

What's Solvo's commission? 10% of the order value. No hidden fees — the price you see is the price you pay.

Do I get a refund if the handyman cancels? Yes, 100% auto-refund within 1-2 business days back to your original payment method (or your Solvo Wallet balance if you paid via Alfamart).

If something goes wrong

  • Order stuck on "Awaiting confirmation" for more than 7 days → contact support via in-app chat.
  • Money already released but the job wasn't done → you can still open a dispute within 30 days, but refunds aren't guaranteed.
  • Scams / handyman asking for cash → report via the "Report" button in chat — we investigate and ban offending handymen.
