How to become a handyman on Solvo

Free to sign up. No monthly fees. You only pay 10% commission on completed paid orders.

Requirements

Indonesian citizen, age ≥ 18
Valid KTP (Indonesian ID card)
Android or iPhone
Bank account in your name (BCA, Mandiri, BRI, BNI, or GoPay/OVO/DANA e-wallet)
Speak Bahasa Indonesia (English is a plus for expat clients)
For specific categories (electrical, AC) — certification (if any) is a plus

Step-by-step signup

1. Download the app (5 min)

Search "Solvo" on Google Play / App Store
Open → "Sign up as Handyman"

2. Verify phone number (1 min)

Enter phone number
Receive OTP code via WhatsApp or SMS
Confirm

3. KYC — Identity verification (10-15 min)

Required so clients can trust you. Our KYC system uses Didit, a secure identity-verification provider (KTP + liveness + face match).

a. KTP photo — front side only, clear, not blurry b. Selfie — while holding your KTP. The system checks the face matches the KTP c. Liveness check — move your head (left/right/blink) to prove you're not a fake photo d. Bank book photo — first page of your bank book (to verify the name matches KTP)

⏱️ Auto-approved in 5 minutes if everything matches. If there's an issue — manual review by Solvo within 24 hours.

4. Choose your specialization

Pick categories you're skilled in:

🧹 Cleaning (general, indoor, deep cleaning)
❄️ AC (washing, repair, installation)
🔧 Plumbing (toilet, faucets, pipes)
⚡ Electrical (installation, repair)
🪛 Other (general repair, furniture assembly, etc.)

You can pick multiple categories. But start with 1-2 you're best at — so your initial ratings are strong.

5. Set work radius & active hours

Radius from your home: 1 km - 30 km
Active hours: pick days + hours when you're available
Pause anytime in the app

6. Start finding orders (Radar)

Open the "Radar" tab in the handyman app. Orders nearby appear there. Tap for details → tap "Bid" to set your price.

Based on our active handyman data (Bali region, May 2026):

Full-time example: AC handyman active 6 days/week averaging 7 orders, ~3M/week = 12M/month (before 10% commission and fuel).

Tips to get orders fast

Clear profile photo — plain background, smile
Short honest bio — experience, certifications, languages
Respond fast — bid within the first 5 minutes
Competitive pricing initially — 10-15% below market until you have 10+ ratings
Always confirm via chat before leaving — give a realistic ETA

What you must NOT do

❌ Ask for cash outside the app (instant ban)
❌ Share your personal phone number in chat (auto-blocked by NLP filter)
❌ Try to move client to WhatsApp to continue (blocked)
❌ Cancel orders after accepting without strong reason (fine + score drop)
❌ Show up late or no-show (large penalty)
❌ Use someone else's account (instant permanent ban)

Common questions

Where is the 10% commission deducted from? Automatically before payout to your account. Example: 500,000 order → you receive 450,000.

How do I get paid? Automatic transfer to your account every 2 business days after the order completes (client taps "Complete" or auto-release after 7 days).

Which areas can I take orders in? Solvo operates across Indonesia — starting in Bali (Denpasar, Ubud, Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Sanur) and Jakarta, and expanding to more cities. Check the app for live coverage in your area.

What if my KYC is rejected? Blurry KTP photo or face mismatch are the most common reasons. Retry with better lighting. If rejected 3 times — contact support, they'll help manually.

Taxes — does Solvo report my PPh? Solvo reports your income to tax authorities (per law). You're still responsible for your annual personal tax filing. We provide an annual income summary in-app (download under "Profile → Earnings History").
