Handyman & Yayasan worker safety
Solvo takes handyman safety seriously. We're not just a matchmaking platform — we have concrete tools to protect you in the field.
Report button (Lapor) — main feature
Every order has a "Report" button you can tap anytime during and after the work. Tap it if:
- The client asks you to do work outside the booked scope (Scope Creep without an in-chat agreement)
- The client asks for cash payment (clear violation)
- The client is angry / disrespectful
- The client has a dangerous condition (drunk, aggressive, unrestrained pets)
- The location is different from what was listed (fake address, trap)
- You feel unsafe for any reason
How it works:
- Tap "Report" → pick a category
- Optionally upload photo/screenshot
- Submit — you can leave the location immediately
- The order is auto-paused + Solvo investigates
- If we confirm the report is valid within 30 minutes → client temporarily blocked, you get full compensation for the order
SOS button (emergency cases)
Corrected 2026-08-06. This section used to say Solvo auto-calls the police for you and that an operator rings you back within 60 seconds. Neither is true and neither has ever been built. The in-app text made the same promise and was rewritten in the same wave. A safety feature that overstates itself is worse than one that doesn't exist, because you'd plan around it.
The SOS button is on your screen during an order — both while you're on the way and while you're working inside someone's home.
What actually happens when you tap it:
- The app offers to dial 112 (Indonesia's national emergency number) from your phone. You place the call — we never dial silently on your behalf, and we cannot.
- Solvo's support team is alerted immediately, with your name, the order, and a map link to where you are.
- Your emergency contacts are messaged — the ones you added in your profile — with the same map link.
- The order is frozen. Money stops moving and the job can't be completed or closed while the SOS is active.
- All of it is written to an audit log that cannot be edited afterwards.
What does not happen:
- Nobody is dispatched to you. Solvo does not send security, and has no connection to police or ambulance dispatch systems.
- Your location is not streamed continuously. One position is sent, once, at the moment you tap. If you move, the link still points at where you were.
- No operator calls you back automatically.
If GPS is off or you denied location permission, everything above still happens — the alert just goes out without a map link, and says so.
⚠️ SOS is not a replacement for emergency services. If you are in danger right now, call 112 first, then tap SOS.
Random Selfie verification
The system randomly asks you for a selfie when arriving at a location. Why:
- Proof you're actually at the location (anti GPS spoofing from home)
- Proof it's actually you (not someone else using your account)
- Protects you from client claims of "a different handyman showed up"
Geofence Lock
You can only start an order (IN_PROGRESS status) once your GPS is detected within 50m of the order location. If you're farther — the "Start" button is greyed out. This protects you from "handyman didn't show" claims when you've actually parked a bit away.
PIN Gate (4-digit code)
When you arrive on-site:
- The client receives a 4-digit PIN in the app
- The client reads the PIN to you verbally
- You input the PIN in the handyman app
- The order status changes to
IN_PROGRESS
PIN purpose:
- Proof you actually met the client (anti "handyman never came" scam)
- Confirms the person opening the door is the order owner
EXIF strip on photos
Every photo you upload (before/after work) has GPS metadata stripped automatically before storage. This way your address and the order location don't leak if the photo is ever shared.
Emergency contact
When your KYC is set up, we ask for 1 emergency contact number (family, friend, or partner). This contact won't be called frivolously — only when:
- You tap SOS
- Your order is stuck > 6 hours without update + you don't answer Solvo's calls
For Yayasan workers (B2B)
If you work for a yayasan / agency registered on Solvo:
- ⚠️ Report button works the same — if your yayasan forces unpaid overtime, abuse, or steals wages — tap Report
- ✅ You can see the original client price vs what the yayasan pays you. If the yayasan takes > 30% of the original price — that violates Solvo's contract with the yayasan, report it
- ✅ You can switch yayasans anytime — your history and ratings are portable to an individual account or a new yayasan
- ✅ Solvo has a dedicated Yayasan worker hotline —
+62-21-XXXX-XXXX(activated at Phase F launch)
What Solvo does NOT do (that you might expect)
- ❌ Solvo isn't insurance — if you get injured on the job, hospital bills aren't on us. We're exploring partnerships with BPJS / private insurance for Phase G.
- ❌ Solvo doesn't guarantee 100% safety — we provide tools, but final judgment is yours. If you feel unsafe, leave and tap Report.
- ❌ We don't intervene in personal conflicts between client and you outside an order. Once the order is closed, if the client contacts you outside Solvo (e.g. via personal WhatsApp), that's outside our jurisdiction.
Common questions
Does the client know my phone number? No. The client only sees your first name + profile photo + reliability score. All communication is via in-app chat. Your phone number stays private.
I was harassed by a client — can they still order from me again? No. Once you tap Report with "harassment" category + evidence — the client is blocked from bidding on your orders permanently. If the dispute is proven — the client is banned from Solvo entirely.
I want to work with my brother — can he use my account? No. Your account is your identity. If your brother wants to work — he signs up separately. Using someone else's account = instant permanent ban.
